CANBERRA, ACT, Sept. 11 -- Australian Federal Police issued the following media release:
A Sudan-born man is set to appear before Adelaide Magistrates Court today (11 September, 2025) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.
The AFP charged the man, 34, yesterday (10 September, 2025), after he was located in Adelaide.
It will be alleged the man breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to ensure his electronic monitoring device was in good working condition.
The man has been charged with:
* One count of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76D(3) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
The maximum penalty for this offence is five years' imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
